The Time has come…

to move on, I have been learning PHP for about 6 months and have not done any Notes/Domino development for a couple of years. I have converted my blog to WordPress so I am sure some things will be lost or missing so if you need something please let me know. I hope to blog more about what I am doing but I just have not made the time to do it.

A little update about life: I have been doing my share of computer work on the side the last year and web development (just static pages). The kids have been keeping us busy, we now have a teenager, that seems a little wired but life must continue. I got a camcorder for Christmas!!!!, so hopefully some posts about that. I also am looking for some good but not expensive editing software, any suggestions welcomed. We took a family vacation to PA in the fall and that was awesome. We got to got to NYC and Washington DC. There is more but that would take away form some possible posts.

Bloglines

I read my feeds with Bloglines (yes, I have tried Google Reader ), because I like to read all the enteries from a subscription at one time.  It is that simple.  OK, there is one more thing "s".  The shortcut key for bloglines uses "s" to navigate next which on the left side of the keyboard means I can leave my right hand on the mouse if it is already there.

The new beta look is looking very nice and have changed some of there wording (Keep/Pinned). So far so good, keep up the good work. I did notice that the counts are not geeting updated in the new beta but I can live with that.

Update:  the counts are being updated but now I have to mark each as being read, yes there is a user setting to mark them all as being read but that does not seem to be working.

Windows Live == IP Address

Did not think that Windows Live would use IP address to open files.

About…

Yes, this is what I have been about for a couple of months.  I have been getting some requests for Open Audit and would like to see if there are any possible improvements for Edit Document Fields .

Merry Christmas, my gift to all

This afternoon my twin boys (6) and I made some Carmel Popcorn for our church's Wednesday night program. This year my wife is heading up the worship for kids 12 and younger and I do the activity part of the night. Tonight will be a little different, being the last night be for Christmas. We will be having some activities, games, making a card to send over sees, and having Carmel Popcorn!!!!!

So my gift to everyone is the receipt for making Carmel Popcorn.

16 cups yellow popcorn (don't use white and I use about 18-20 cups)
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup light corn syrup
1/2 cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla

Place popcorn into a brown grocery bag. Microwave all ingredients (minus popcorn), on high for 2 minutes or until bubbly. 3 times for 1 minute each stirring in between, stir well. Pour over popcorn, fold down the bag then shake. Microwave on high for 1 minute, then shake. 2 times for 30 seconds shaking each time. Dump on 2 cookie sheets let cool and break apart.

Enjoy & Merry Christmas

Backup Solution

I am looking for a backup solution for a couple of (small) companies.  I am currently looking at either finding a web based solution or creating my own solution at home.  Yes, the better solution would be to have an outside company handle the backup, but  they do not want to have big monthly expenses.  I currently use Cobian Backup which has everything that I need and is simple to use.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

What a play

Don't comment on football much (if ever) but tonight's game had an amazing finish.  I was impressed on good review from the announcers.  Yes, Bret has had is issues but overall her is a likeable guy.
