9-Fools mock at sin,
But among the upright there is favor.
10-The heart knows its own bitterness,
And a stranger does not share its joy.
11-The house of the wicked will be overthrown,
But the tent of the upright will flourish.

6-Getting treasures by a lying tongue
Is the fleeting fantasy of those who seek death.
7-The violence of the wicked will destroy them,
Because they refuse to do justice.
8-The way of a guilty man is perverse;
But as for the pure, his work is right.

6-Blessings are on the head of the righteous,
But violence covers the mouth of the wicked.
7-The memory of the righteous is blessed,
But the name of the wicked will rot.
8-The wise in heart will receive commands,
But a prating fool will fall.

15-The rod and rebuke give wisdom,
But a child left to himself brings shame to his mother.
16-When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increases;
But the righteous will see their fall.
17-Correct your son, and he will give you rest;
Yes, he will give delight to your soul.

1-My son, keep my words,
And treasure my commands within you.
2-Keep my commands and live,
And my law as the apple of your eye.
3-Bind them on your fingers;
Write them on the tablet of your heart.
4-Say to wisdom, “You are my sister,”
And call understanding your nearest kin,
5-That they may keep you from the immoral woman,
From the seductress who flatters with her words.

How much better to get wisdom than gold!
And to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver.

13-The lazy man says, "There is a lion in the road!
A fierce lion is in the streets!"
14-As a door turns on its hinges,
So does the lazy man on his bed.
15-The lazy man buries his hand in the bowl;
It wearies him to bring it back to his mouth.
16-The lazy man is wiser in his own eyes
Than seven men who can answer sensibly.

A fool vents all his feelings,
But a wise man holds them back.

27-Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due,
When it is in the power of your hand to do so.
28-Do not say to your neighbor,
“Go, and come back,
And tomorrow I will give it,”
When you have it with you.
29-Do not devise evil against your neighbor,
For he dwells by you for safety’s sake.
30-Do not strive with a man without cause,
If he has done you no harm.

1-My son, pay attention to my wisdom;
Lend your ear to my understanding,
2-That you may preserve discretion,
And your lips may keep knowledge.
3-For the lips of an immoral woman drip honey,
And her mouth is smoother than oil;
4-But in the end she is bitter as wormwood,
Sharp as a two-edged sword.
5-Her feet go down to death,
Her steps lay hold of hell.
6-Lest you ponder her path of life–
Her ways are unstable;
You do not know them.
